Details

General

Fujian province is a true mecca for Chinese black tea. The Wuyi Mountains in northern Fujian produce tea such as Jin Jun Mei and Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong. In addition to these, black tea is produced in the Zhenghe, Bailin and Tanyang regions in eastern and southern Fujian. Fujian's climate is quite warm, which is why the province's black tea varieties are quite characteristic.

This tea

Zhenghe Gongfu is a black tea from Zhenghe County in Fujian Province. The region is known as the heartland of Chinese white tea, but this quite famous black tea is also produced in the region. This 2024 spring harvest variety has a long intact leaf and offers a brisk hardwood smoke tone and fruitiness.

Taste

The dry tea has a wonderfully coniferous and smoky aroma. In the cup, the aroma gains a more fruity tone. The taste has a brisk hint of hardwood smoke. The taste is fresh and green at the same time.

Infusion

About a tablespoon of tea leaves is needed. Use boiled water for infusion. If the tea is made in a pot of less than half a liter, you can brew the leaves a few times with this amount of leaves. It is better to do one longer infusion in a larger pot. In a small pot, the steeping time is 1-3 minutes and in a larger pot, 3-5 minutes. Adjust the amount of leaves and the infusion time according to your taste.
